A Combustible Sound

This is another example of the percussion affect, LIVE!
Ok, here is Grover Washington, Jr. and his people.
Steve Gadd on drums and Ralph MacDonald (perc) making it happen with Mr. Magic

When the dance floor is hot and you want to set it on FIRE, you will have to use the right material!

And when we're talking about fire, we're talking about afro latin percussion baby!
The sound that since it enters your ears, has the ability of getting diffused through your body and making your bones vibrate.
Señor Ray Barretto was a percussionist who could do all the above by mixing his Latin origin with his afro Soul.
His song "remember" can prove that:

The theme "Apache" is known.
The Incredible Bongo Band's "Apache", is another story.
IBB, was a pioneer back in the 70's, for it was one of the first instrumental percussion bands.

This is for you all beat-lovers!

Easy (like a sunday morning)

No, this has nothing to do with Lionel!
This is a pay of respect to the day that God chose in order to have a rest, a piece of mind.

Anton Bruckner's 4th symphony its all about that i think!

This is his 1st great success, more commonly known as the Romantic Symphony, the only epithet applied to a symphony by the composer himself.
It was composed in 1874 and success came only after major revisions in 1878, including a completely new scherzo and finale.

Prepare your coffee, choose the best view you can (if you can) and let it go.

A Hammond Dude

The first time i decided to play this song i wasnt sure about what i was doing cause i thought that it would be too much for a Greek wedding party to handle it.
But the set was perfect, a private sandy beach with an open bar and 40 people at the age of 30-40sth "under my command"
After a big hit wave from the last five decades that lasted about three hours or sth, this song came and made some of the people there start to move so smoothly and gently, they almost made the sand straight again..!

Well to be honest, someone must be extra careful if he wants to play this one in public.
There is a big chance of everybody looking at you like you fell from the sky, espesially if you're doing ya thing while playing it ;)

This is Mr. Jimmy Smith (always wanted to say that!) and his amazing Root Down (And Get It) live performance that was recorded in Los Angeles on February 8, 1972.

Also Sprach Zarathustra - Eumir Deodato. What A Day Starter!

Combine a Symphonic poem of a German composer with the afro jazz moud of a jazz-funk Brasilian musician-composer and you have this relaxed and groovy piece of art.
I dont know if it will make you dance in your car while waiting for the light to turn green, but it will sure make you tap your fingers on the wheel. If it helps you start your day with a possitive thinking, the jod is done.

German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, composed it as a philosophical novel in four parts between 1883-1885 and Richard Strauss made it a symphonic poem during 1896.

In 1972, Eumir Deodato made the final adaption and turned it into this funky version.

*It won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and went to No. 2 in the pop charts in the US, No. 3 in Canada, and No. 7 in the UK.
You can find it into Deodato's 1972 album Prelude

Music Mine

Music is the earth.
The deeper you dig, the better the treasure gets.

This blog was born because i needed to scream out loud that music is inexhaustible.
What it takes to discover it is just a little digging.
The reason i start digging was the Beatles.
God knows what i found under that first layer!

Mainstream music and hits in general are fine, but the real wealth is deeper.

Enough said, please join me on this underground trip and let me know what
you think about the mineral treasures that we will be digging up!

Hope that you will all enjoy the music in this blog.
