Cult of Personality - Living Colour

One of the most dynamic political songs made by Living Color at the late 80's.
Its a creative fusion sound, influenced by free jazz, funk, hard rock and heavy metal.
The lyrics range from the personal to the political, in some of the latter cases attacking Eurocentrism and racism in America.
The riff was stumbled upon while practicing something else and by the end of the session they had written what was to become Living Colour's best known song.

Turn that shit up!

They Dont Know But We Know

That Kirsty MacColl was a female artist, singer and songwriter.
The sound of "In these shoes" is well known by her.

Her debut solo single "They Don't Know", released in 1979, peaked at #2 in terms of airplay on the Music Week airplay chart.
However, a distributors' strike prevented copies of the single getting into record stores, and the single consequently failed to appear on the UK Singles Chart.

In the United States, MacColl was probably most recognisable as the writer of "They Don't Know". Tracey Ullman's version, helped by a video guest-starring Paul McCartney, reached Number 2 in the UK in 1983 and the Top Ten in North America.

A Simple Question

"Why Can't This Be Love" is a song by Van Halen, off the album 5150, the band's first with lead singer Sammy Hagar, who had replaced founding member David Lee Roth in late 1985.

It was the initial single from that album, released in March 1986.
Great guitar work and a fantastic - uplifting - feeling.
Its a song that you cant figure from which decade it comes and thats what is making it so beautiful.
